Data deletion

How to remove local records, signed-in backups, and a Hues Within account.

Version 1.0 · Last updated: September 24, 2026

Hues Within separates records stored on your device from account and backup information stored in the cloud. Complete every step that applies to the information you want to remove. Export any report or share image you want to keep before deleting data.

Understand what is stored where

Signing in backs up completed manual check-ins and basic profile details. A completed check-in backup includes every answer saved in that check-in, including any medication, symptom, note, or period answer entered for that day. Prescription history, standalone cycle settings, custom questions, reminders, most preferences, and the records used to generate insights otherwise remain device-local. Deleting only local data does not remove backups in a signed-in account.

Delete an individual check-in

  1. Open History in Hues Within.
  2. Open the day you want to remove.
  3. Choose Delete and confirm.

This permanently erases everything recorded for that day. When you are signed in, Hues Within also removes the backed-up answers and keeps a deletion marker so an older device does not restore them. If the backup service is temporarily unavailable, the app keeps the deletion locally and retries after a later signed-in sync.

Erase guest records and generated files from this device

  1. Open Settings in Hues Within.
  2. Under Erase data, choose Erase my data.
  3. Confirm Erase permanently.

When this process completes successfully, it permanently removes the app's local check-ins, prescription history, period and cycle records, profile, custom questions, and other record-related preferences. It cancels pending Hues Within reminders, dismisses delivered Hues Within notifications, removes reminder settings, and attempts to delete cached PDF or spreadsheet reports and cached chart or calendar share images that the app can access.

The guest control intentionally keeps your language choice and app-lock setting on that device. It cannot remove a report or image you already saved to Files, Photos, another app, or another person's device. You can also remove the local app database by deleting Hues Within and choosing Delete App rather than only removing it from the Home Screen. Device or cloud backups managed by your operating system may retain an older copy until that backup is deleted or expires.

The in-app Erase my data control appears only when you are using Hues Within without an account. If local app data is removed outside that control while you are signed in, completed check-ins in your Hues Within account can be restored to the device. Delete individual check-ins first, or delete your account below, if you also want the Hues Within cloud backup removed.

Delete your Hues Within account and active cloud records

  1. Open Settings in Hues Within.
  2. Choose Manage account.
  3. Choose Delete account, then confirm Delete permanently.

When the process completes successfully, it permanently deletes the authentication account, backed-up check-ins, deletion markers, basic-profile backup, and Hues Within Plus entitlement record. It then performs the local cleanup described above, resets the app-lock and language settings on this device, and signs you out.

Two narrow categories of server records may remain. First, a minimal App Store purchase ledger keeps the Apple original transaction identifier, product and plan, transaction-signed date, and verification timestamps so the same purchase can be restored after a new Hues Within account is created and so duplicate or conflicting claims can be prevented. The deleted Hues Within account identifier is cleared from that ledger, and it contains no journal entries, profile details, or account email. A separate replay log keeps the App Store notification identifier and the time it was received so the same notification is not applied twice; it also contains no journal, profile, or account-email information. Second, if Apple does not accept a Sign in with Apple revocation during deletion, the Apple-issued credential is kept in a restricted, server-only retry queue. The retry is run manually; the credential is removed when revocation succeeds or on the first later run after it has been pending for 14 days. These limited operational records remain subject to any deletion or other privacy right that applies to them; use the regional request links below if you want Hues Within to assess a rights request.

The deletion cannot be undone. If the app reports an error or the process does not finish, do not assume every copy was removed; retry or contact Hues Within. Deleting the account does not cancel an Apple subscription or erase Apple’s independent purchase records; manage an active subscription in your Apple account before deleting Hues Within.

If you cannot access the app

Email the address below from the email associated with your account and use the subject Delete my Hues Within account.
